RMM 2 Team DAVID 2

With Guvnor absent this week, team captain Iceman formed a 1 man selection panel for this game.

Luckily for the captain, he didn't have any selection headaches this week as true to our recent form, he only had 12 players to select from.

Foo did his best to complicate our captain's selection by handing in a request to play in the coveted goalkeeping position. Given the heatwave we are experiencing these days, there was a long line of players who had secretly wanted that position.

Iceman's hardest decision was to decide who will be dropped to the bench. Taking the easy way out, he dropped Shark who arrived last.

There was little action to report in the first 20 mins of the game with both teams playing without any real rhythm. Yoong who had not been playing regularly was the 1st player to be subbed. The poor guy walked off the pitch coughing and looking like he lost a lung somewhere on the field.

The introduction of Shark sparked off a bright spell for RMM and between then to halftime, RMM managed to score 2 goals via a great team move that Giggsy finished off and That, who had missed some sitters earlier.

During that time, poor Yoong hardly had any rest as other RMM players were queuing to be subbed.

The heat finally got to RMM in the second half. The slick passing game that we are all accustomed to was missing as moves constantly broke down.

The only bright spark in the 2nd half came when Batigol, (the bestest player in RMM that Guvnor should be building a team around) was deployed to the right. It was felt that his skills, pace and power would cause damage there and it proved to be the right decision as he was a constant threat on the wings skinning the leftback with consummate ease with his lightning pace.

Like all superstars (ie ronaldo), he had a very frustrating afternoon as his less gifted teammates struggled to put away chances that he had created via his superb pin point crosses. Yoong (who later apologised) even dared to air kick 1 of Batigol's sublime crosses. It was obvious that the gulf between RMMs best and the rest was vast.

Disaster then struck when Team David pulled 1 back from an innocuous cross / attempted shot from the left mid that left Foo bewildered. Whilst the rest of the team were expecting an easy catch from the keeper and had turned to walk away, the stand in keeper flapped and did a pirouette before watching the ball bounce, hit the post before rolling in the net.

That took the sails out of RMM and more comical defending crept in. The twin towers in the middle of defence, Jason and SiYeh did their best impression of a pinball machine by letting the ball ping on and off them to great effect.

RMM finally caved in and conceded the equaliser. (Not so) Speedy's weak assed goalkick was returned back via airmail towards the box and again the Twin Towers were caught in all sorts of tangles. Somehow, the white haired Team David forward (who is probably 112 yrs old) managed to sneak past everyone to poke the ball past Foo.

The rest of the game passed without any incident with both teams relived to hear the final whistle to earn respite from the heat.

Not a good game. Not a good result.

...not only pinpoint crosses, endless supply of them too!

and how can you forget to mention the way our tough tackling Si(hardman)Yeh pulled out of a challenge in order not to put the opponent player in hospital. he deserves an award for that!

Hmmm...since when does Shark gives out such compliments?

Well, doesn't matter if they're sincere or pure sarcasm but as always I am just doing my best for the team and enjoying my football despite what certain parties believe in...

Lastly, my apologies are sincere and hopefully everyone just focus on the game and churn out some good results....

Chiaoz...
